Our Leadership

Tammy Clune - Founder & Mentor

The heart and soul behind 30+ years of dance magic For over three decades, Tammy has been the beating heart of what started as Tammy's School of Dance. With 35+ years of teaching experience, Tammy's passion for nurturing young dancers has never wavered. She didn't just build a dance studio – she created a place where children discover confidence, develop discipline, and find their own unique way to shine. Tammy's journey began in the Pittsburgh dance community, where she trained under professional dancers and choreographers. Before opening our studio in 1995, she touched the lives of over 1,000 students through dance programs in the North Hills School District. Her dedication to excellence has earned our studio multiple "Best Dance Studio of the Year" awards, but what makes her truly special is the way she sees potential in every child. From tiny tots taking their first wobbly steps to advanced dancers preparing for their futures, Tammy has always believed that dance is about more than technique – it's about building self-esteem, creating friendships, and discovering what makes each dancer special. She holds Acrobatic Arts Teacher Certification and continues learning at conventions nationwide, always bringing fresh inspiration back to her students. Now, as she watches her daughter Victoria step into leadership, Tammy's legacy continues in the most beautiful way possible.

Victoria Clune - Director & The Next Generation

Carrying forward the dream with fresh vision and heart Victoria's story with our studio began when she was just two years old, wobbling into what would become her second home. Growing up in the studio, she didn't just learn to dance – she discovered her calling to share that same joy and confidence with others. At nine years old, Victoria was already helping as a teacher's assistant. By eleven, she was running summer dance camps and bringing her infectious energy to birthday parties and after-school programs. It was clear that teaching wasn't just something she could do – it was something she was born to do. Victoria's own dance journey took her through North Allegheny's musical theater program, where she served as Dance Captain and discovered her gift for choreography. Since 2018, she's been the creative force behind North Allegheny's Middle School Musical program and continues choreographing their high school fall productions. What sets Victoria apart is her commitment to growing as an educator. She holds certifications in Acrobatic Arts Training, NDEO Pedagogy and Content Knowledge of Dance, and Developmental Domains in Dance. She's trained with industry leaders at conventions from Las Vegas to New York City, always seeking new ways to inspire her students. As Victoria leads Studio V Dance into its next chapter, she brings her mother's values of technique, safety, and nurturing, combined with her own fresh perspective and deep understanding of what makes each dancer unique. There's truly nothing else she'd rather be doing – and that passion shines through in every class she teaches.

Our Incredible Teaching Team

Kate Pompa

Kate's dance story began at age three on Long Island, where she trained at the Hamilton School of Dance. Her journey through the BOCES High School for Performing Arts and later the Conservatory of Performing Arts in Pittsburgh gave her a foundation in ballet, lyrical, and contemporary that she loves sharing with students. With performance credits including productions at Pittsburgh Playhouse and choreography showcases, Kate understands both sides of dance – the technical precision and the pure joy of expression. After 16 wonderful years teaching at Miss Holly's Dance Studio, she's thrilled to bring her passion to our Studio V Dance family. Kate lives in Franklin Park with her husband, son, and daughter, and her excitement about joining our team is contagious. She can't wait to help our dancers discover their own love for movement and artistic expression.

Kristin Barcaskey

Kristin's love for dance began at age two at Miss Louise's School of Dance, where she spent 15+ years not just as a student, but eventually as a teacher's assistant and instructor. Even when life took her to Ohio University for her Biology degree and later to Pitt for her master's in Physical Therapy, dance remained close to her heart. For 27+ years, Kristin has worked as a Pediatric Physical Therapist, bringing movement and healing to children of all abilities. But her connection to our studio runs even deeper – she's been the ultimate dance mom, watching her daughters Grace and Ella grow up at Tammy's School of Dance. Now, Kristin gets to experience the magic from the other side, sharing her love of movement and understanding of child development with our students. Living in Pine-Richland with her husband, two daughters, one son, and adorable puppy, she brings warmth, expertise, and genuine care to every class.

Grace Barcaskey

Grace's journey with us started when she was just five years old, and watching her grow from a tiny dancer into the confident young woman she is today has been one of our greatest joys. Training under Miss Tammy until she graduated in 2020, Grace earned recognition at dance conventions, winning awards like Studio Dancer of the Year and Excellence in Jazz and Lyrical. Her leadership skills blossomed during her four years on Pine-Richland's dance team, where she served as captain her senior year. She also shined as Dance Captain for Pine-Richland's musicals during her junior and senior years, and has recently returned as their musical choreographer. After dancing with Ohio University's Dance Team and transferring to Duquesne University for Early Education, Grace is set to graduate in December 2024. Her combination of performance experience, teaching passion, and educational background makes her an incredible mentor for our young dancers. Grace represents everything beautiful about our studio family – she started as a student and blossomed into a confident leader who's now inspiring the next generation. For 27+ years, Kristin has worked as a Pediatric Physical Therapist, bringing movement and healing to children of all abilities. Paige Bucha

Paige's dance journey began at four years old and simply never stopped. By fourteen, she had discovered her gift for teaching as a student instructor at Richelle Lyn School of Dance, working with our youngest dancers ages two through ten. That early experience showed her that teaching wasn't just a job – it was her calling. Her competitive dance experience, combined with intensive training at workshops and conventions, gave her a well-rounded foundation that she later refined with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Slippery Rock University. There, she served as Vice President of the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and performed with their Dance Express team. What makes Paige special is how she brings movement and joy into everything she does – even her work as a teacher outside the studio. She understands that dance isn't just about steps; it's about confidence, creativity, and pure happiness. Her leadership skills blossomed during her four years on Pine-Richland's dance team, where she served as captain her senior year. Valerie Zappia

Valerie's dance story began at age two at Cynthia's School of Dance, eventually leading her to train with Miss Tammy herself at Tammy's School of Dance. As a member of our performance group and Act One theater program, she learned what it means to be part of our studio family. Her years as captain of North Allegheny's varsity dance team, combined with competitive training, gave her leadership skills and technical training in everything from tap to hip hop. Her platinum awards and performances at Broadway Dance Center demonstrate her commitment to excellence. With degrees in finance and economics from Wake Forest, a master's in accounting from Pitt, and an MBA in data analytics from DePaul University, Valerie brings analytical thinking to artistic expression. Now working full-time for Victoria's Secret & Company, she's thrilled to return to her dance roots. Fair warning to her students: as a devoted Swiftie, expect to hear plenty of Taylor Swift in her classes – because what better way to inspire confidence and joy than dancing to music that celebrates being authentically yourself? As valedictorian of her high school class, Madisyn chose The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she earned multiple scholarships and performed works by renowned choreographers including José Limón, Trisha Brown, and Shen Wei. What Makes Our Team Special

Every member of our Studio V Dance family shares the same core belief: dance is about so much more than perfect technique. Here's what sets our instructors apart:

  • We meet each student exactly where they are - Whether your child is taking their first tentative steps in our Tiny Tots program or perfecting their pointe work in our advanced classes, we help them grow at their own pace

  • We celebrate every victory, big and small - From mastering a new step to building the confidence to perform on stage, we recognize and honor each student's personal achievements

  • We create a safe space for growth - Our students feel comfortable taking risks, expressing themselves, and trying new things because they know they're supported every step of the way

  • We build more than dancers - Our instructors focus on developing confidence, creativity, friendships, and life skills that extend far beyond the studio walls

  • We're lifelong learners - Our team continuously attends workshops, conventions, and training programs to bring the latest techniques and teaching methods to our students

  • We understand the journey - Many of our instructors grew up dancing themselves or are dance parents, so we truly understand what families experience and what students need to thrive

  • We make it fun - Dance should bring happiness! We balance proper technique with laughter, creativity, and the genuine smiles that come from moving to music

Our instructors don't just teach dance, they build dreams, boost confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime. We're honored to be part of each student's journey and excited to continue the legacy of excellence that has defined our studio for over three decades.
