Studio Policies
Dress Code
Please refer to the dress code on this website for dance attire and shoes. All students of Studio V Dance must adhere to the dress code.

Behavior
Students are expected to show respect toward their teachers and fellow classmates. Disruptive and/or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. We strive to create a safe and enjoyable environment for all students, staff, parents, and guests including respect for our staff and our beautiful facility.

School Calendar
The school year begins in September and runs through June. Refer to the calendar for important dates, closures, and events.

Registration
Students may register for classes as space permits. New students are accepted until February 1st.

Student Placement
Students ages 2 and a half through 4th Grade are placed by age. This allows us to present lessons that are developmentally appropriate. Dancers ages 10 and older are evaluated and placed into technique classes based on their grade and skill level. Progression to a higher level is based on technical ability, skill mastery, attendance, and maturity. Some classes will contain a mix of ages. Students are progressed to the next level with teacher recommendation.

*Must be in Grade 5 to register for Intro To Pointe. Pointe shoes are only recommended for students who have taken Intro and who are approved by their instructor, Victoria, and Tammy.

Student Progress
Regular attendance and at-home practice greatly affect the rate at which your child will learn and improve. Parents can go directly to Victoria and Tammy to discuss their child's progress and any other specific questions/concerns. Please be respectful of other students' time and do not interrupt or delay a class that is in session. Send an email to set up a time to talk.

Attendance
Attendance is taken at every class. Good attendance is crucial to the progress of the entire class. Make-up lessons are offered; check with Victoria and Tammy to find a suitable make-up class time.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available to any student (grade 5 and older) who are enrolled in Ballet and would like more challenging work with the opportunity to refine technique in a particular discipline. Private lessons also provide reinforcement of class material for any student who would like extra help. Students enrolled in solo/duet are expected to have good attendance, positive attitudes, and a willingness to take corrections.

Important Notices
Important notices and updated information will be distributed via email. Please update your account to reflect your current email. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to obtain and read this information. Signage is often placed in studio to reflect any important news, parties, or deadlines.

Weather Conditions
Studio V Dance does not follow any specific school district for snow cancellations. If the weather is questionable, check your email or check the homepage on this website. Classes canceled due to weather or poor road conditions will not be made up as a group; however, you can take a make-up class at your convenience.

Tuition Policy
Tuition is calculated for the entire dance season and divided into 10 equal payments. All classes receive the same number of lessons throughout the school year. Monthly tuition payments are due the first week of class and no later than the 15th of each month. Full tuition is due each month regardless of absence or the number of weeks in a month. We cannot give refunds or adjustments for absences. Pro-rating is not permitted except for new students registering mid-month. Payments may be made in person or by mail.
We accept cash, check or zelle payable to Tammy's School of Dance. Studio V Dance reserves the right to refuse lessons to any student whose tuition has not been paid. There is a $20.00 fee for all returned checks.

Withdrawal
The school year runs ten months, beginning in September and ending in June. Students may withdraw at any time. To withdraw, the parent/guardian must notify the director immediately for tuition charges to stop. Any recital costume fees must be paid in full.

Annual Dance Recital Performance
Studio V Dance presents an annual recital each June! The recital provides our students with an exciting opportunity to showcase their hard work, dedication, and progress. We strive to produce family-friendly entertainment using age-appropriate music, costumes, and choreography. Learning through performance is an exciting and educational experience in which all our students are encouraged to participate. The recital is not mandatory.
